As I said in the convo last night, I said "If we have questions about a chapter, the schedule will change, we wil talk about the chapter till we all understand it." No, I am not a pro at programming, but I do have programming experience:

• HTML Programming
• Visual Basic, writing programs for Windows applications
• Pascal
• Turbo Basic
• Turbo Pascal
• Hardware and Software Concepts with exposure to Assembly Language on the IBM System 370
• Fortran 77
• Introductin to C Programming
(I took an incomplete in the C programming class cause I was BS'ing but If I really wanted to cheat like my study mates, I could have got a B)
I will also post my transscripts to prove that in all my computer related or programming classes, I have gotting an A or B. I got a C in one class cause the teacher thought I was cheating but in fact, I was giving my programs to a dude that was struggling. SO I THINK I AM QUALIFIED TO PUT PROGRAMMER ON MY RESUME....

DUDE you got this project twisted. I am not going to go into how this whole thing (Project) got started cause I am not going to gloat on crap like that. I do want to say I have 2 peeps that are learning C++. Dont matter how they learned or who taught who.

Now on to the learning....

First of all, let me respond to GPs Sept.14th entry. Don't get mad at me for having what I shall call "A PROGRAMMER'S EYE." If I can spot mistakes in the book I feel that I obviously must have an eye to debug a bad program. I don't believe for one damn minute that you knew the mistake and just ignored it. You can't try to learn something like this and have mistakes in the book your reading.
Second. Yes, I finally finished the 1st Chapter over the weekend and since then I've been asking you both when we start Chapter 2. To all of you who read this crap let me tell you what happened. Gelo calls me and asks me if my DSL was down and I told him no. He states that he about to get off the phone and finish reading. I'm thinking to myself what the heck is he reading because he better not be reading Ch.2. So, I ask what he is reading and he says Ch. 2 so I'm like what?!!?? I've been asking damn near everyday since I've finished Ch. 1 when were going to be starting Ch. 2 only to hear "Oh, me and Romeo already started Chapter 2." So I'm like what da heck, THANKS FOR TELLING ME SUPER FRIENDS. YOU WANT TO WAIT ON ME TO FINISH THE CHAPTER LAST AGAIN????? To me it only seems fair since I wasn't informed. Oh wait, I was SUPPOSED to look at the Chunion site to find out that we were starting Chapter 2. I don't know if it's just me people but does anyone see an entry for September 17th stating that we were starting Chapter 2???? I DON'T THINK SO!!!! The only entry is from GP stating one chapter every 2 days and that's only because of what happened when he called.
Third. How come I find myself being told bye GP to just read a chapter every 2 days and if I have questions to ask him or Romeo. OK. Sorry about no entry last night. I was at my gal house. Romeo and I are so far ahead, we had to wait for Tele. He decided to read (YAY!, CLICK ME!) But wait. There is A WHOLE LOT OF FIGHTING IT! Like trying to force feed a kid. He is finding every little error in the damn chapter! like this .....

In line 8, cout<< “What is your name?”; displays a prompt for the user. This prompt asks the computer to write the user’s name.

In line 9, cin<<name; tells the computer to stop in order for the user to type. When the user presses Enter, the computer assigns everything that the user typed before pressing Enter to the string called name.

The cin << statement is incorrect, but so what? IT SHOULD BE cin >> Romeo passed it up and so did I. Why did we pass it? Cause WE DIDNT CARE.
He is also taking everything so literal! Like this...

I have to say I have Motley Crew. Tele got my so called "Craptop" and had to load 98se on it. OR DID HE? He re-installed CW on his PC and tried to load the program. He said it still didn't work. He was clicking on the icon on the desktop. HE WAS DOING THIS AFTER ROMEO AND I TOLD HIM THE ICON WOULD NOT WORK. So he loaded the program using the start menu and it worked..(DUH!) Now its late and he is sleeply. Not much got done tonight. We talked about 80's music and Bum Fights (co-workers, this site is blocked!) Romeo said not to worry, but I am tripping a little. Nite

Finally started my re-install of Win98 on this Craptop since my stupid Desktop PC kept giving me errors during the CodeWarrior install. I'm finding myself to be more excited as I think of the journey we have ahead of us. This is so cool that you have people that you can be on the same page with while learning something so unfamiliar. Well, that's it for now but there will be more once I catch up with my big brothers, 1 by blood 1 by the fact I said he is. PEACE!

9-8-02 This is the day everyone gets their books. We are using "C++ Programming for the Absolute Beginner" By Dirk Henkemans and Mark Lee ISBN 1-931841-43-8. After scanning the book, I decided to use Code Warrior 5.0 by metrowerks. I got it off Ebay for 9.99 each copy. (STILL SEALED IN BOX!) I got everybody their copy of the software and book.

9-9-02 - This day was spent trying to install the software. My brother is running Windows 98SE. My friend is running Windows XP. I am running Windows ME. (Please dont hurt me...) My copy went on without a probrem. (YEA!) My brother had _DELIS errors,( not cleaning the temp files out of the temp directory) and my friend had an error that stated he didnt have enuff free temp space. Well after 3 hours of fighting, my friends PC is up and running with the 5.3 patch. My brother just decided to to take y old laptop and use it for his coding purposes.

9-10-02 This was to be our night to read and talk about the first chapter. NOT! My brother decides to go see someone and gets a flat. I go to help him. Its late, I work, he works, he should have had his A Z Z at home. Oh well. A night wasted.

9-11-02 Today, my friend and I have finished reading the first chapter. I did the sample code, my friend didnt. My brother didnt read again. This is starting to look CRAPPY.
